Real Estate Spotlight: Meet Sue Anderson of Coldwell Banker Intercoastal Realty
Where did you grow up? Seminole, Florida
Children- I have one daughter, Danielle DeFoe, 23, who graduated from The University of Georgia in May and has recently been accepted to The Medical College of Georgia. Can you tell I am an extremely proud Mom?
Pets- I have shared custody of a very spoiled, smart black lab, Luke, and a Grand-dog, Tucker, who was a rescue and somehow I end up babysitting, A LOT!
What do you enjoy most about living in the Savannah area? It is hard to pick just one aspect to focus on! However, having grown up Florida and enjoying beaches all my life, spending a day in Savannah is like being on vacation, there are so many great restaurants and activities to enjoy year around.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? I have a place on St. Simons Island that I love to sneak off to when I am not working. Great place to unwind! I also enjoy antiquing, decorating, and trying new recipes!
How long have you worked in Real Estate? I have had my license almost 30 years and owned and managed my own real estate company in Florida before moving to Georgia in 1991. Being a Realtor is much different today than when I started. The dramatic changes in technology the constant changing lending regulations and the overall complexities of each transaction is a daily learning process.
What would you consider your specialty? I have always been a big fan of real estate, whether it is buying or selling, building or re-modeling homes, real estate has been a passion of mine for many years. Residential real estate is what I love most!
Do you have any accreditations or certifications? I am a continuing member of the Distinguished Sales Society with the Savannah Board of Realtors, a member of the International President’s Elite Circle thru Coldwell Banker, and Agent of the Year for 2011 and 2012. I also have an E-Pro designation, which is extensive training with marketing and the internet and I am Certified as a Short Sale Specialist.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do? Buying or selling a property has become an incredibly complex process. Every transaction is truly unique. Clients don’t necessarily observe everything we contend with on their behalf, so, when a client says that I made the process of buying or selling enjoyable, it is very gratifying.
What is the most unique property you’ve ever listed or sold? I have sold everything from starter homes to Mansions. Each home is special and unique to the homeowner.
Describe your most memorable real estate transaction… Wow, they are all memorable!
What is the one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home today? Choose a reliable agent that you trust and rely on their expertise to guide you through the process.
What is the one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home today? Get your home in tip top shape! This is the key to selling your home quickly and at the best possible price.
What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices? The available inventory is down dramatically, we are seeing multiple offers and above asking price sales on certain properties; and interest rates remain at an all-time low. I wish I had a crystal ball…
