Realtor Spotlight: Meet William L. Wade of Savannah Quarters
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Lawton Oklahoma. I am the number 4 son of thirteen children - Catholic family of Charley and Madge Wade. My father owned the Charley Wade Oldsmobile dealership where my career in “sales” began. I moved to Savannah in 1981 with Brasseler USA.
Family Deborah and I have been married 21 years. Together we have three children, Stephanie, Laura and Bill Jr. and 5 grandchildren Madge 6, Grantland 3, Emmeline 12, Richard 11, and Sophia Grace 18 months. We are blessed that all live in Savannah.
What do you enjoy most about living in Savannah? We love Savannah for its southern hospitality, historic beauty, history, arts, restaurants, and entertainment. We love the beaches, climate, year-round golfing and tennis. What is there not to like about Savannah?
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I live, work and play in Savannah Quarters! We enjoy our five grandchildren and that keeps us very busy - school and sports activities... We both enjoy traveling when we can, playing golf & tennis, relaxing on the beach and enjoy friendships.
How long have you worked in Real Estate? I retired from Brasseler USA after 22 successful years. Stayed home for a year and Deborah told me “no more lunches”. Glen Hall was developing Savannah Quarters and asked me to be his ambassador for the community. I brought people out to play golf before the course was opened and show off the community. I was actually “selling” Savannah Quarters then. Mr. Hall offered me a sales position. I earned my real estate license and have been at Savannah Quarters since June 2001.
What would you consider your specialty? My specialty is product knowledge and the ability to build client relationships. I enjoy building relationships and getting to know my clients … helping them with their real estate needs.
What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do? My clients are experienced buyers, looking for a specific type of product and lifestyle. My challenge is to listen to my clients and reflect on their needs, desire and help connect them with the right product in our community. I enjoy building a friendship and long term relationship with my clients.
What is the most unique property you’ve ever listed or sold? All of our properties are unique and offer something different to our community makeup. All my sales and listings as one of a kind and unique in that you are dealing with different individuals and personalities on each sale or listing.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home today? Look at all your options to get the most for your investment. It is buyers market, be a smart buyer and find something that fits you and your requirements for your new home and life style.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home today? Price is the main key to a successful sale of your home. Price your home with the current market trend. Whether it is in an up or down market you have to be in that market to find that right buyer for your home.
What do you see in the future for real estate sales/prices? Every community has felt the real estate recession. Buyers are taking advantage of the reduced values on homes and homes sites and low mortgage rates. Improvement for our housing market continues to grow with new construction both single and multi-family. The market is at the bottom and we will see a recovery, time is the only question as to when.
Why should someone use you as a real estate agent? As I mentioned earlier, I live, work, and play at Savannah Quarters. I know my product and I love people. I will be with you during your real estate transaction, then we can live, work and play in Savannah Quarters together after.
