Savannah Quarters is easily accessible from both interstates 95 and 16 and located just minutes from historic Savannah, the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport, and a short drive from the beaches of Tybee and Hilton Head islands. Savannah’s charm and grace, is one of the South’s most beautiful and bustling riverfront cities. Rich in history, even Sherman left Savannah intact. Savannah matches any city with its homes and gardens, southern cuisine, distinctive art and cultural influence, nightlife, schools and state-of-the-art medical facilities.
Medallist has developed and is responsible for the rich amenities that are associated with the Savannah Quarters Club experience. Surrounded by oaks, loblollies and cypress, Savannah Quarters originally opened an 18-hole golf course named The Woodyard – a Robert Cupp design, developed by Glenn Hall. So enchanted was Greg Norman, through his development company, Medallists, purchased Savannah Quarters and decided to completely re-design this private course to create an 18-hole masterpiece…the first full redesign. It’s the subsurface engineering that makes the course what it is…”a diamond in the rough--just polished up”. More than 1,000 specimen trees were transplanted to give the course a lush, traditional Low country feel. The signature hole #15, a scenic hole which stretches 137 yards, provides a dramatic water challenge. The 7,016 yard course also features a state-of-the art practice facility, an 8,000 square-foot putting green and a 4,000 square-foot chipping green with bunker. Members of all skill levels fell in love with the new course. On September 7, 2006, Greg Norman officially celebrated the grand opening of this world-class golf course. “This golf course is your golf course”. “At the end of the day, it has been an honor. We thank you for entrusting us to create a lifestyle that is unique to this area”.
The Savannah Quarters Country Club builds on its reputation for providing first-class golf and services. The clubhouse incorporates dining and golf services into one beautifully-designed building. The Golf Grille provides dining for Golf members, bar and lounge, intimate dining in the main dining room, and private events in the Wine room. All across the United States amenity migration is occurring, relocation of people to areas rich in environmental and cultural recourses, recreational opportunities and security. The generation long known as the baby boomers includes those born between 1946 and 1964 and they are 80 million strong. It is on the whole a well educated generation and their wealth and influence is greater than any other generation today. The growth of a “leisure society” with time and wealth for recreation and travel will generate the amenity migration for tomorrow.
